dtac partners with ASEFA to develop IoT solutions for smart energy management

9 November 2020 – dtac has partnered with ASEFA, a leading manufacturer and distributor of main distribution switch boards, to develop Smart Monitoring and Service Care Solution for Main Distribution Boards (MDB), pioneering the future of smart cities.

Mr. Rajiv Bawa, Chief Business Officer, Total Access Communication PCL or dtac, said, “The power system is the backbone of a business in the digital era. Power system security is not limited to demand and supply, but also its management. It is a vital link in the business supply chain. dtac Business offers a multitude of IoT solutions for efficient corporate resources management, to support smart management in all dimensions of any business and to lower operating costs.”

Power System Security – The Heart of Digital Transformation

dtac – via dtac Business – has partnered with ASEFA PCL, a distributor of power distribution, supply and electrical switchboards, to jointly develop Smart Monitoring and Service Care for Main Distribution Boards. The cooperation between ASEFA and dtac makes power monitoring more accessible, ensuring uninterrupted power for its users.

The newly developed solution with dtac features real-time monitoring with simple-to-understand readouts to monitor temperature and humidity. Moreover, the solution can also forecast power demand, display real-time power consumption monitoring and also increase power efficiency.

Boosting Efficiency, Stability, Safety with Smart Monitoring for MDB

Smart Monitoring and Service Care for Electric Switchboard solution is comprised of 3 key components:

  1. Sensors: ASEFA is responsible in their installation and integration onto a switchboard. These sensors are developed to measure temperature, moisture, smoke and movement. It can even detect a surge, allowing technicians to find timely solutions.
  2. Evaluation: dtac’s cloud computing system integrates Cloud Computing technology to store and process power-usage data. Statistics related to MDB are analyzed to predict power demand.
  3. A user-friendly interface: Service users do not need a specialist to read and understand the indicators.

Mr.Phaiboon Ungkanakornkul, Managing Director of ASEFA PCL, said, “ASEFA collaborates with dtac to develop power management systems for corporate clients, helping them to deliver uninterrupted services for their consumers as any disruption to Main Distribution Boards (MDB) can lead to severe consequences. Each MDB is individually customized and also manufactured with imported parts, thus requiring some lead time. Smart maintenance of MDB is crucial as efficient monitoring can lead to fewer issues, enhance power efficiency, and maximize service life.”
