dtac TriNet receives 26GHz 5G licenses

February 26, 2020Sharad Mehrotra, Chief Executive Officer of Total Access Communication PLC or dtac, together with Marcus Adaktusson, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and Narupon Rattanasamaharn, Head of Regulatory Division, today received spectrum licenses for the 26GHz 5G bands from the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC).

With the addition of 26GHz mmWave spectrum to dtac’s portfolio of mid- and low-band spectrum, dtac will be able to deliver high-quality, high-speed data services also in the future. dtac recently committed to having 5G in selected locations in Q2, 2020, while significantly boosting its existing network to give all customers improved coverage and up to three-times-higher data capacity. The upgrade of the existing network will be done through a combination of deployment of high-speed massive MIMO technology and rollout of 3,400 additional 4G-TDD sites (in partnership with TOT).
