27 November 2019 – Total Access Communications Plc (dtac), Thailand’s leading mobile operator, has been named to the THAILAND SUSTAINAILITY INVESTMENT (THSI) list held by the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) for the four year in a row, reinforcing its commitment in pursuing sustainable development into business practices.
Alexandra Reich, Chief Executive Officer at dtac, said: “As the leading mobile operator, dtac has fully embraced our role in making a positive change to the society through three key aspects – Environment, Society and Governance. This means putting sustainability at the heart of our business, which consists of two key pillars – Do the right thing and Empowering societies through the use of digital technology.”
“We’re adopting Creating Shared Value or CSV model to accelerate the achievement of sustainable society amidst global challenges. This is in line with the world’s direction of the UN Sustainable Development Goals or SDG no.10 – Reduced inequalities,” she said.
dtac has collaborated with stakeholders to develop a wide range of Sustainability Policy based on various international standards including the UN Global Compact, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and ILO Core Conventions. This is to ensure that the company’s business operations can truly create positive economic, social and environmental impacts, which consist of four key principles:
- Sustainability must encompass all aspects of the company’s business operations
- Responsible business practice and transparency are embedded in business management
- Core business operations are aimed at creating benefits for society
- Implementation and results are constantly tracked and risks and opportunities relevant to sustainability assessed in an appropriate timeframe
Being named to the THSI lit for four consecutive years resonates dtac’s commitment in contributing Thailand’s sustainability agenda, covering environment, society and governance prospects.
