dtac, Garena and Bangkok Metro Network Offer Free dtac Gamer SIM

19 October 2020 – The latest in dtac’s “Great Signal, Great Price, Great Jai-D Service” campaign is a collaboration with Garena and Bangkok Metro Network (BMN) to offer 130,000 free Gamer SIMs. The free prepaid SIMs are bundled with special in-game items for Free Fire gamers who purchase the Free Fire Limited Edition MRT top-up pass.

A 50 Baht top-up with this SIM will enable users to play Free Fire without incurring data charges for up to 6 months and receive additional exclusive game items every month. Other active dtac customers can also get special Free Fire game items for free simply by scanning the dtac QR codes inside the Chatuchak MRT station at gate 1, 2 and concourse level.

Our data indicates the number of dtac prepaid customers playing Free Fire has grown by 22 percent from quarter one to quarter three. Interestingly, our prepaid customers played the game three times more overall, 1.4 times longer and 1.3 times more on weekends than their postpaid counterparts. Our gamers also use social media more than other customer groups on the likes of Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Instagram and Tik Tok. Moreover, they visit online shopping portals like Shopee and Lazada more, too. dtac revenue from Free Fire gaming customers skyrocketed by 92% between 2019 and 2020.
