dtac picks up bid documents for spectrum auction

January 8, 2020 – Today, dtac picked up bid documents for the February 16 spectrum auction to be held by the NBTC. The documents contain all the relevant information regarding the upcoming multiband auction. Mr. Narupon Rattanasamaharn, Senior Vice President, Head of Regulatory Division and Mr. Lertratana Ratananukul, Senior Vice President, Head of Government Relations of Total Access Communication PLC or dtac, on behalf of dtac TriNet Co., Ltd. picked up bid documents for the multiband auction of 700 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2600 MHz and 26 GHz spectrum license from the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC). dtac will now conduct a feasibility study of the criteria and procedure for the license and will submit it to both investment and full board meetings to make a decision on the auction.

dtac reveals data usage peaks on New Year’s Eve, Facebook ranks most used mobile app

Jan 1, 2020 – dtac revealed a record surge in traffic during New Year’s Eve, growing 150 percent higher than the previous year thanks to the popularity of live video streaming via social media platforms like Facebook, which dominated mobile application usage over the New Year. Prathet Tankuranun, Chief Technology Officer at Total Access Communication PLC or dtac, said, “As the clock ticked over to 2020, we saw data usage skyrocket by 150 percent compared to last year (as of Jan 1, 07:00 am). The peak period ranged from 08:00 pm to 09:00 pm. on Dec 31, 2019.” “Data traffic during the New Year countdowns is by far the busiest hour of the busiest day of the year. That’s why dtac allocated additional network engineers to ensure smooth connectivity 24 hours a day. dtac proposes NBTC to adjust auction timing to allow for inclusion of 3500MHz to acquire most efficient portfolios for 5G deployment

December 2, 2019 – Participating in the public hearing to be organized by NBTC on December 3rd, dtac will make a number of recommendations to NBTC regarding the multi-band spectrum auction scheduled in February 2020. Mr. Marcus Adaktusson, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, dtac said, “A well-designed and well-timed spectrum auction is critical to 5G deployment in Thailand. While we welcome the proposed multi-band auction model, we propose adjusting the timing of the auction to allow for inclusion of the 3500MHz band. This to allow bidders to acquire the most efficient spectrum portfolios for 5G deployment.” dtac’s recommendations are designed to promote sustainable 5G in Thailand; the main points are as follows: Adjust auction timing to include 3500 MHz dtac welcomes a multi-band auction model, however timing should be adjusted to allow for inclusion of 3500MHz to allow bidders to acquire the most efficient portfolios for 5G deployment. dtac and Ericsson sign partnership for advanced network operations

October 29, 2019 Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and dtac (SET: DTAC) signed a partnership agreement today to launch an advanced, customer-centric network operations model starting from January 2020. Ericsson will be managing dtac’s  network operations across the country with the Ericsson Operations Engine while dtac retains the network’s strategic planning and the ownership of its assets. October 16 2019 – Total Access Communication PLC. or dtac reported strong performance in Q319 with year-on-year growth in quarterly service revenues (excluding interconnect fees, or IC). The turnaround was attributed to network improvements and continuous customer focus.
